Packing Must-Haves

This may seem very obvious to you, but it is important that while you are buying or scrimmaging to get boxes for your move that you get a variety of sizes. Having the same size and depth of boxes for your whole house can be difficult to pack efficiently.

See what you have in your home and from there decide what type of boxes you will need. To be safe, get a decent amount of small, medium, and large boxes. Don’t worry if you have leftovers; it is better to have extra than not enough.

The tape is essential for building and sealing up boxes. You have the standard shipping tape, but you should also invest in some duct tape to help with heavier boxes. It will put your mind at ease to have that extra sealant on the boxes. We recommend you buy two rolls of each tape.

Using a sharpie to mark your boxes will help tremendously with organizing your boxes and remembering what is in each box. If you want to give yourself a boost of assistance, color-code your boxes based on the room they go in. This will allow you to sort through your stuff easily and help the movers keep the boxes organized by room.

Protective Wrapping

Newspapers, bubble wrap, and packing paper are the best for wrapping and protecting fragile items. If you don’t want to spend money on these items for home improvement stores, consider using sheets, blankets, and towels for wrapping things in. Not only will it save you money but you can pack two things in one!
